Annual Meeting, Saturday 22nd June 2019

Arrangements are now being made for the 2019 Annual Meeting. Following this year’s very successful meeting in Coventry, we shall be returning to the Methodist Central Hall in Westminster. When? On Saturday 22nd July 2019. As usual we shall start with check-in from 10.30 am when biscuits, and coffee or tea will be available. Please put this date in your diary and assume we shall finish mid-afternoon. Justin Brierley from the Premier Christian Media Group has agreed to join us. John Farrow, our Chair, is delighted about this because Justin was Editor of “Christianity” magazine for some years until he handed the job to Sam Hailes recently. He is still with Premier but he is now very involved in Premier’s radio broadcasting and podcasting through the “Unbelievable? debate show and still frequently contributes to the magazine and Christian media in general. ACE Awards Scheme for 2019 With Christmas not far away, we hope that church magazine editors will be beginning to think about entering their magazine in the 2019 ACE Awards Scheme. Usually we ask for two issues to be sent in, one of which is the major festival of Christmas or Easter. No doubt this year many of you will opt for Christmas. 2018 was the year of the A4 magazines and other similar sizes. This year, 2019, it will be the A5 magazines which feature in the Awards. Highly popular, this group includes magazines produced simply in mono and also those produced using a single colour to highlight the covers and sometimes headlines on inner pages. Or they may include full colour covers and illustrations. As always, the highlight will be the presentation of the John King Trophy.
Changes to Executive
Committee members
Enid Church and Neil Walker
have joined the committee.
Hilary Barrett has retired
