Coming in early 2020 - the new ACE website!
Supporting you with effective communication of the Christian Message
We are busy preparing the completely new look ACE website and will have it ready before the end of January 2020.
Some of the new features:
- members’ area integrated with the rest of the site
- members’ forum where you can meet with fellow editors and get answers to any questions you have on
- monthly Ideas Forum published on the site as well as by email
- pointers to external resources to help you get your magazine looking great
- updates on all the ACE meetings and workshops
- latest news on the ACE awards

Note that the website name will be staying the same – churchmag.uk – we’re just using this website address whilst we get the new site finished, so keep churchmag.uk in your bookmarks/favourites.
ACE Magazine Awards 2020
The Association for Church Editors is launching its next Awards to celebrate and recognise the work of church magazine editors and their editorial teams.
Who will be eligible to take part?
- The 2020 Awards are for any size magazine with just black and white printing.
- Magazines which use coloured paper for the front cover are eligible to take part.
- The Awards are open to all Christian denominations that believe in the Holy Trinity.
Types of Awards
The Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards will receive an inscribed trophy to keep, together with a Certificate of Excellence.
The Gold Award winner will receive the John King Trophy, to be held for one year.
The winning entry in each of the following categories will receive a Certificate of Excellence:
- Cover design
- Overall layout & structure
- Headlines
- Use of graphics
- Clarity of the Christian message
- Intended readership appeal
Entries not selected for one of the main Awards, but are considered to be of a sufficiently high standard, will receive a Certificate of Achievement.
How to submit your entries:
- Complete the entry form that you can download in Microsoft Word format below.
- Please send two copies each of two different issues of your magazine/newsletter produced during the last twelve months, one of which should cover either Easter or Christmas.
- The closing date for entries is Monday 3rd February 2020.
- The review process will be based on printed magazines and not electronic versions.
- Please send your 4 magazines plus entry form to:

Please note:
- The Awards will be presented at our Annual Meeting on Saturday 30th May 2020 at Westminster Central Hall in London. It is an open meeting, so please come with anyone else who is interested in good editing. Full details of the Annual Meeting will be posted here nearer the time.
