These are the main ways in which we bring our members together. They are so important not just for what speakers can tell us but also for what we can tell each other over a cup of coffee or round a table at lunchtime. We make friends and it is these friends who can help us, sometimes in quite surprising ways.
Our Annual Meeting, held in the Summer months, takes place in London or another well equipped accessible venue elsewhere in the country. The main features of the Annual Meeting are:
The association AGM
Keynote speaker talks
The ACE Awards Scheme presentations
Unfortunately, due to the Covi-19 pandemic, we were unable to hold our 2020 meeting that was due to take place in May. We hope to resume our meetings in 2021. You can still find details of the 2020 Award Winners here:
Keith Milmer lecturing on good magazine principles at the 2017 Worcester Workshop for Editors
Another opportunity for members and non-members to come together and exchange their knowledge and experience of church magazine editing and production. In recent years we have held successful workshops in Liverpool and Worcester, both organised by members living locally. They brought much useful local knowledge both to the organisation of the event and to the workshop itself. The plan is usually to meet mid-morning and run through to mid-afternoon. A break for lunch means our guests can talk to each other informally and get to know each other.
Workshops are open to both members and non-members alike, with member’s benefiting from a reduced fee.
Our Spring 2020 workshop took place in Sonning, Berkshire on 15th February 2020. Click the link below for more details.
