The Spring 2020 workshop is confirmed for Saturday 15th February 2020, 10am to 4pm, in The Ark at St Andrew’s Church, Thames Street, Sonning, Reading RG4 6UT.
The Ark has a modern accessible hall, opened in May 2017, and can seat about 80 people so there will be plenty of room. It is equipped with WiFi, if you decide to bring a laptop or other device, and a loop system. There is limited parking at the Church, although most visitors usually find somewhere in the nearby streets. The nearest trains stations for the workshop are Twyford on the Reading-Paddington line (4 miles) and Reading (5 miles). There are bus and taxi options – from Twyford the bus fare is £1-£5 and taxi £7-£10. From Reading the bus fare is £3-£6 and taxi £11-14. Buses are only every hour on both routes.
Tea, coffee and soft drinks will be available – if anyone wants anything stronger there are two pubs next door, one of which is owned by the Church!
You will need to bring your own packed lunch or take a wander into Sonning to get something from one of the local shops.
There will be a £5 charge for ACE members. For non-members there will be a charge of £10, of which £5 will go towards your annual subscription if you join ACE on the day.
A full agenda for the day will be forthcoming but in the meantime if you would like further information or would like to sign-up for the workshop, please contact Bob Peters at
