11.10 Keynote Talk by Claire Musters: ‘Looking after you’
Deadlines, awkward people (writers and readers), little to no support. Of course, providing the church magazine for your parish/church is a privilege, and often a real joy, but what about those moments of difficulty? How do you keep going when you are feeling burned out and less than gracious towards the person who has promised an article ‘tomorrow’ yet again, when it is already a week late?
The morning will focus on showing yourself care, looking at, among other things, the importance of boundaries, utilising spiritual practices, and recognising and embracing the growth God may be instigating.
Claire Musters is an editor, author, speaker and church leader with over 30 years of experience in both book and magazine publishing, most of which has been spent as a freelancer working at home on her own so she knows the importance of self-care. She is passionate about authenticity and helping to facilitate safe spaces for people.

No food is allowed in the Chapel but there is a café on site, with others nearby including Pret A Manger on Tothill Street.

13.15 Talk by Olivia Daly: ‘AI and more’
Olivia Daly joined the ACE committee this year. She has 30+ years’ commercial experience in all aspects of magazine production: news and feature writing, copyediting and layout design. She now produces The Bridge, a church and community magazine in Bridport, Dorset. (https://thebridgemagazine.org/).
She will be speaking about the thorny topic of AI and examining some of its ethical implications. She will also be getting those attending – and their guests! – involved in a couple of creative tasks.
